You can’t fold a fitted sheet, either. At least I can’t. I don’t try bothering anymore. These days, top sheets aren’t even made wide enough to tuck in at the sides!
And you can’t fold them either. At least I can’t. I could sooner flap my arms and fly to the Moon before I could fold one of those damned things. Graduated with honors from an Ivy League school, yet I’m outwitted by a “contour” sheet!

To fold the bottom fitted sheets, you have to hold the top face of the corners and direct the lower portion inside. Then it will fold as normal. Of course to do that it can take two people, and is not worth the effort.

Around here we call those ‘fitted’. Is it a regional thing or has the name changed in 65 years?

I recall when they were called contoured sheets. It was common back in the 50s and 60s.

I gave up trying to fold fitted sheets. I just roll them up into a cylinder shaped blob. With today’s fabrics, they don’t even get wrinkled.
