Reminds me of a scene in the classic western film “Shane” when little Joey (played by Brandon DeWilde) runs around with his wooden toy gun doing exactly what Lucy is doing. I had a cap pistol in the fifties, but always wanted one of those toy revolvers with fake bullets you could load into the chamber. Ah, the days of the Lone Ranger and Tonto and “Hi Yo Silver.”

That’s how we did it in the old days: 40,000 shots before ever thinking about reloading.

What’s she think she’s firing, a M1911? She’s shot even more rounds than that should carry

Charles was thinking about 6 shooter revolvers when he drew this, but it is possible to get a magazine that holds 30 bullets.

She’d do the same thing with a toy flintlock.

Even more timely than when that cartoon was penned. Scary.

I remember those guns – used them many times when we played. I loved the fact that you could reload them so fast.

Back when we had cap guns a roll of caps fired 50 times before reloading.
