They leave her in the dark…

and thus begins Lucy’s playing baseball?

Usually, it’s Lucy giving other people a headache!

When I was younger – in the early 60s – we called them “dark glasses”. Yes, I’m old.

“The future’s so bright, Lucy’s gotta wear shades.” LOL!

They wouldn’t be good to view an eclipse, Lucy!

With such impressive diagnostic skills, Lucy’s a shoo-in for the medical profession!

He forgot to tell her she’s supposed to catch the ball, but then, over the long decades, she never does anyway.

“No good can possibly come of this…” says Charlie Brown in panel 2, and would be proven over and over again for decades.

Try putting eye black under your eyes, Lucy.

So she has always being bad t baseball.

Charlie Brown says he needs a substitute . . . so who was playing RF before Lucy?

And so begins Lucy’s career as a right fielder…You’re right, Charlie Brown, you should have forfeited. But that would make too much sense for a blockhead such as yourself.

I wish they’d a) get the comic dates lined up with current dates so the strips would be relevant to the time of year and b) leave the original date in fine print on the frame somewhere so you can see what year the strip was first published, which I find interesting.

And so it begins. :-D
