As someone who lives in Florida, I can attest to this. When the sun is shining, I need to be OUT. We love rainy season here. Gives us a chance to pull the curtains, read or watch TV and feel cozy. How can you stay inside and read when the sun is shining? (You CAN, however, sit by your pool and read, but that has a different vibe).
When I worked in retail, I looked forward to my weekday off being rainy: put on my favorite music, curl up on the couch in my comfies, cup of tea, good book, cat curled up next to me…a little slice of heaven.

if the sun were shining but the heat was unbearably hot, would you still play outside, Charlie Brown?

Now THIS is a kid from a bygone era. These days, the only way to get some of them outside is if the house is on fire.

Got to get that vitamin D. Really makes a difference if you get covid-19.

Why can’t today’s kids feel obligated to play outside?

That’s the way I grew up. Out at dawn and in well, when my parents made me come in.

Same here. I’d rather go outside when it is sunny. But I don’t mind staying in when it rains.
