makes me wonder: did Schulz think of himself of becoming a barber when he grew up from childhood?

Ok Lucy, It happens to every one.

She’ll be a tall, mature lady of course…

and a psychiatrist.

Lucy will be living proof that some people grow up, others just get taller!

Just go to a fortune telling machine, and tell it you wish you were big.

I asked a little fellow what he was going to be when he got older. He looked at me in surprise and said, “Bigger….”

Ironically, she never does.

I’m mature, and a lady…but still waiting for the “tall” part (I’m 5’ tall.)

I still don’t know what I’ll be now.

She’ll be a fuss-budget.

Oh yes you will Lucy, starting with your ego…

Sixty-plus years later, the gag gets more ironic.

In an interview, John Lennon related the childhood story where he was asked in school what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said, “Happy”. The teacher told him that he didn’t understand the question. Lennon said, “You don’t understand life”.

She’s gonna be a giant pain in the @ss.

Lucky her because she never does…..

If you read this strip regularly you already know adult Lucy will grow up to be the patient.

Lucy, you and the rest of the Peanuts gang will get a couple years older, but then stay that way forever!
