Don’t want Patty and Violet to see you’re a rollar-skating wuss, Lucy?

This reminds of the time I suffered a recurring tailbone injury while skating at a roller rink.

Don’t quite get it this time!

Lucy’s scuffling reminds me of how I met my husband. I was on a date, at a local popular skating rink. Since I don’t skate, I was doing Lucy’s scuffle. I saw a friend walk in, so I told my date that I was going ahead to say hi. I started doing pretty well, turning a perfect corner, looked up at my friend to wave…wasn’t watching where I was going…I hit the edging marking the edge of the rink…WHAM I landed right on my butt! It was at that moment that my friend chose to introduce me to his friend, who is now my husband of almost 38 years. (and I’ll beat y’all to the “you fell for him” jokes)

that’s okay, I can’t roller skate either… :\

By panel 2 I thought there was a Buffalo Herd coming.

Lucy, for a KIA you skate pretty badly…

I LOVED those roller skates of my childhood. Whenever your shoe size grew you just used the skate key to lengthen your skates and they never had to be replaced. I will always remember the feel of that skate key in my hand.

I never could get those clamp-on skates to work.

That’s me on roller skates. Do better on inline blades than roller skates.
