Is Schroeder REALLY playing sophisticated Beethoven-level music, or is he just THINKING that he is? When Patty comes in, all she hears is the “plink, plink, plink” sounds. Then Schroeder goes back to playing. When Schroeder’s alone, he could be imagining that he’s that good. When Patty comes in, that’s “reality.” Again, is he really that good, or does he just THINK that he is? Discuss.
It appears that Schroeder’s piano keyboard has only 8 white keys and 4 black keys. That would not give the range that is given in the accompanying staves. But this is a cartoon and the viewer may choose whatever interpretation he or she chooses.
