"Ninety-eight, ninety-nine, one hundred..." Patty sits on the curb and counts as Lucy bounces a ball on the ground.<BR><BR> "One hundred an' seventy-six, one hundred an' seventy-seven.." Patty chants as Lucy continues to bounce the ball.<BR><BR> Patty stands up: "Two hundred an' four...two hundred an' five..."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown approaches: "What's going on here?" he asks. "This is an historica occasion." Patty sits on the curb and watches Lucy. "One thousand twenty-three, one thousand twenty-four..." she adds.<BR><BR> Patty looks up at Charlie Brown. She explains, "Lucy is setting a new neighborhood record...Sit down, and help me count...."<BR><BR> They sit on the curb and watch Lucy dribble. "Two thousand an' fifty-six..." Charlie Brown counts. "Two thousand an' fifty-seven...."<BR><BR> Schroeder runs down the block, calling: "LUCY! Your mother wants you to cvome home right away!!"<BR><BR> "Two thousand an' fifty-eight..." Charlie Brown drones. "Two thousand an' fifty-nine..." Patty counts as she and Charlie Brown follow Lucy as she slowly dribbles the ball down the street. Schroeder stares at them.<BR><BR>

I thought Charlie Brown couldn’t count up to 20 but now he is counting way better.

That was 3 years ago. Now he has the arithmetic systematically down pat, as in Patty. by the way, what happened to Patty over the years? Did she morph into another Neighborhood? Perhaps Mr Rogers’ Neigborhodd?
