Charlie Brown approaches Patty sitting on the floor playing. He has a pencil behind his ear and holds out a paper to her. He asks, "How would you like to read a comic strip I just drew?"

He stoops behind her as she looks at it. He says, "See? This fellow pulls up in front of the zoo with this truck full of animals, and says,'Got gnus for you!'.."

He asks, "Get it?"

He walks off, comic in tow and says, "When it comes right down to it, my type of humor is too subtle for the comic strips..."
