He says, "Your drop ball isn't dropping today, Charlie Brown..."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown stands next to Schroeder and asks, "How about my curve?" The latter replies, "It isn't curving..."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown asks, "How about my straight ball?" Schroeder replies, "I'll have to admit that looks pretty straight"<BR><BR> As Schroeder walks away, Charlie Brown says to him, "Well, I'm glad something's working!"<BR><BR>

I think this is the first time Charlie Brown’s been pitcher. And definitely the first time he and schroeder are together as pitcher and catcher. Love his baseball games!

Only recently discovered that Gocomics has all these strips, and I’ve been binge-reading them from the beginning for the last few weeks. Fascinating how so many of the familiar elements of Peanuts were established in the early years.
