Violet says to Patty, "Lucy is the nation's foremost authority on jumping ropes." Lucy says, "People are always coming to me for advice."

Lucy holds a jump rope and says, "To some people... insurance agents, for example... I recommend owning two jumping ropes in case they wish to entertain a client."

Violet says, "Could you give us some pointers on rope-jumping, Lucy?" Lucy thinks, "hmmm."

Lucy explains as they walk, "Well, a lot depends of course on the individual.. some got it and some haven't."

Lucy begins to skip rope. She says, "It's a good idea to start slowly, jumping with the wind... It's very dangerous to jump in a cross-wind." Violet says, "I suppose we should be taking notes."

Lucy says, "Keep your eyes straight ahead... use a regular motion until you pick up speed."

Lucy jumps real fast and says, "And then... give 'er the gun!"

Lucy stops and says, "Oh, there's one more thing I should have mentioned."

"Never jump in the same place for too long." Lucy stands in a hole she's stomped into the ground.

I wonder ¿how-long it would take Lucy to jump-rope an hole all of the way to the South-Eastern Indian Ocean?
