Strange, the song “Blue Suede Shoes”, which made the expression famous, wouldn’t be composed until a year after this strip was first published (it was first recorded December 19, 1955). Yet another sign that the expression is much older than the song.

I think it would have worked better with all numbers:
One Four – the money
Two Four – the show
Three Two – Get ready!
and Four Two – Go!
