Charlie Brown stands and watches Violet looking out the window. She says, "Here comes Patty, Charlie Brown....you can go home now...."<br> <br> He looks as she brings his coat and hat for him. She continues, "I just asked YOU over because Patty thought she wouldn't be able to make it.."<br> <br> Patty arrives, and stands next to Violet looking at him. He frowns to the reader as Violet exclaims, "As long as she's here now you might as well go home!"<br> <br> He walks down the lane holding his stomach. He says, "When you play 'second fiddle' too long, it makes your stomach hurt..."<br> <br>

Heh, and by the late 1950s, Charlie Brown and those two girls would end up playing second fiddle to Snoopy and the Van Pelt siblings in this strip!
