Charlie Brown comes upon Lucy leaning on the water fountain in the field. She says, "I've been thinking about the past, Charlie Brown.."<br> <br> She leans against a tree and continues, "I've made a lot of mistakes in my day..yes, sir...a lot of mistakes.."<br> <br> She raises her fist in front of him and exclaims, "But I'm going to do something about it!" He asks,"Oh? What are you going to do, Lucy?"<br> <br> She looks thoughtful and replies, "Try to think of some excuses..."<br> <br>
Peanuts is, after all, a microcosm of life as it is.
