Lucy sits with her back against the piano as Schroeder plays.<br> <br> "Schroeder, do piano players make a lot of money?" Lucy asks, slouching against the piano.<br> <br> "MONEY?" Schroeder looks up, sending Lucy somersalting over backwards at his tone of voice.<br> <br> "Who cares about money?! This is ART, you blockhead!!" Schroeder stands and pounds his fist down on the piano top. Lucy sits sprawled on the floor.<br> <br> He kneels down and adds, "This is great music I'm playing, and playing great music is an ART!! Do you hear me? AN ART!" Lucy sits up.<br> <br> WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM: he bangs his fist on the keyboard: "ART! ART! ART! ART! ART!"<br> <br> Lucy stands and leans over, placing her elbows on top of the piano and putting her face close to Schroeder's. "You fascinate me!" she declares.<br> <br>

Tools to create art cost money, so if you wish to continue making art, you need to be paid for your craft.

Since the black keys on his piano are just painted on, I’d imagine music in C Major is easier for him! :)

When he gets older (if he gets older) he’ll probably resign to the other principle: If you’re good at something, don’t do it for free.

This was adapted into the TV special “Play It Again, Charlie Brown”, although Schroeder doesn’t call Lucy a blockhead.
