Yes, sir...Long pants sure do make the man!" Linus exclaims as he looks down at the pants he wears.<br> <br> "Well, how do I look?" he asks Lucy. Linus holds a tie in one hand. Lucy sits on the floor and replies, "Fine..it's the first time I've seen you in a white shirt in six months!"<br> <br> As Lucy puts on her shoes, Linus adjusts his tie. She asks, "Now are you sure you know your piece for the Christmas program?"<br> <br> "I know it backwards and forwards and sideways and upside sown! I could say it in my sleep!"<br> <br> Lucy stands and examines herself in a hand mirror. She reminds him: "Yeah, well, I remember LAST year..you almost goofed the whole program!" "Yeah, well, this is THIS year and THIS year I won't forget!"<br> <br> Linus opens his arms and quotes, "'And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people.'"<br> <br> "Say, that's pretty good.." Lucy admits. Linus smiles proudly.<br> <br> "I TOLD you I knew it..I have a memory like the proverbial elephant!" Linus says as he struggles into his jacket.<br> <br> "Well, I'm going on ahead to the church...I'll see you there..." Linus stands in the open doorway and waves. It is dark and snowy outside.<br> <br> He walks along and recites: "'For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people.' What a memory!!!" <br> <br> "What in the world? I thought you just left?" Lucy says to Linus who stands in front of her as she struggles into her coat. "I did, but I came back.." Linus says. <br> <br> "I forgot where the church is!" Lucy closes her eyes.<br> <br>
When focused on what to say other things kind of disconnect, …like the location of where you have to give your address. I was that way back in ’78 when I had to give a talk in front of a HUGE assembly of several hundred people. Talk about a frightful experience!
