Hmmm, overbearing mother, bully sister and apparently head stuck in the sand father. I’d want a security blanket too.

That’s how you create an overachieving perfectionist kid who’s afraid to “fail” their parents and the 1st time they experience setbacks or things start to feel a little out of their control, their world completely falls apart. I’ve seen a couple like this, poor kiddos would rather unalive themselves than be anything less than perfect
