Funny how both Linus and Sally had ocular abnormalities.

This is about the earliest I remember reading Peanuts. I would have been 6 – my mom also had to wear an eye patch for lazy eye for a while.

And it wasn’t even September 19.

My sister had a lazy eye for a while, or so I am told. I don’t remember it. Funny how you never hear about that now.

This was the start of a series of strips in which Sally has to wear an eyepatch in order to correct her lazy eye. The strips were later reprinted into a book published by the US Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare in 1968 called “Security is an Eye Patch”.
