Charlie Brown walks out of the house carrying a bowl of dog food.<BR><BR> Snoopy wakes up and thinks, "Suppertime!"<BR><BR> Snoopy does a backflip and thinks, "Suppertime!"<BR><BR> Snoopy grabs Charlie Browns' hand and swings him around. He thinks, "Oh, it's suppertime! It's suppertime!!!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown spins as Snoopy dances and thinks, "Yahoo! It's suppertime!"<BR><BR> Snoopy dances and thinks, "Suppertime! Suppertime! Suppertime! Good ol' sup, sup, sup, suppertime!"<BR><BR> Snoopy gets down on one knee and holds out his arms and thinks, "Suppertime!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown says, "I must admit he's a very satisfying person to cook for."<BR><BR>
I remember seeing this strip animated on the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show in the eighties (a Saturday morning animated show that animated various single strips and strip sequences). Knowing this strip well, I was rather pleased by the fact that in the animated version, Charlie Brown was smiling when he delivered that last line…which makes more sense than the blank look he had in the last panel. After all, wouldn’t he be pleased that Snoopy was so thrilled with his “cooking”?
