It’s interesting to see how much Schulz has developed as a cartoonist. Lucy and Schroeder’s relationship is as one-dimensional as ever (how could it be anything but?). However, the much more recent pairing of P.Patty and Chuck is a lot more nuanced and interesting, even though it’s essentially the same idea of the girl showing unrequited love for the guy.

Or she could just ignore him and develop her own talents and interests. At worst, she becomes a better person for it.
