it is raining during a softball game. Lucy opens up an umbrella.<BR><BR> Charlie watches while Lucy walks by the pitcher mound, holding the umbrella. Charlie yells, "So it's raining a little! You can't play right field with an umbrella over your head!"<BR><BR> Charlie looks in disbelief.<BR><BR> Charlie starts his pitch.<BR><BR> Charlie whines up and pitches.<BR><BR> Charlie watches the ball fly after it has been hit.<BR><BR> The ball hits the pointy part of the umbrella.<BR><BR> The ball sticks to the middle of the umbrella.<BR><BR> Lucy has brought the ball back to Charlie who pull it off the umbrella.<BR><BR> As Lucy heads back to the outfield, Charlie whines, "I can't even criticize good."<BR><BR>

Lucy lucky catch #3 with all these incredible catches and considering they ended up in the playoffs one year….you would think he would have more than 1 run.

“OK, so it’s raining slightly, but so what? You can’t play right field with an umbrella over your head!” Strangely enough, exactly two years later, in mid-April 1977, a Sunday strip, with a similar plot, was published- it was raining, Lucy insisted they call the game off, CB was like,“WHAT! This is just a DRIZZLE! Now get up there, Lucy, to home plate, and GET A HIT!” and what should she use, but her UMBRELLA
