Snoopy is lying on his back atop his doghouse, with the moon overhead. He raises up and holds his aching head.<BR><BR> He lies back down and thinks,"I think I've discovered something."<BR><BR> He sits up with his tongue out. He thinks,"When you wake up at night, and your head hurts and your stomach feels funny..."<BR><BR> He stands on the ground putting his robe on. He thinks,"The first thing you do is put on your bathrobe."<BR><BR> He sits on the ground and thinks,"Then you drink a glass of water and take some pills, and you sit by yourself in the dark for awhile until you're ready to go back to bed...."<BR><BR> He climbs back atop the doghouse thinking,"But it's not the pills that made you feel better..."<BR><BR> He lies on his back and thinks,"It's the bathrobe!"<BR><BR>

Snoopy is the one Peanuts character who grows old over the last two decades of the series – not in a way that artwork would show, but in terms of behavior. Likely a projection of Schulz’ own old age.
