Peppermint Patty sits looking at a piece of paper on her desk. She exclaims,"Good Grief!"<BR><BR> She puts her pencil to her mouth and picks up the paper. She says,"To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, subtract 32 degrees, myltiply by e5 and divide by 9."<BR><BR> To covert Celsius to Fahrenheit, multiply by 9, divide by 5, and add 32 degrees."<BR><BR> She looks at the paper and reads,"F=32+9/5. C=5/9(F-32)"<BR><BR> She continues,"Problem: if temperature is is degrees Fahrenheit, what is the temperature in degrees Celsius?"<BR><BR> She stares at the paper.<BR><BR> She asks,"Ma'am wouldn't it be easier just to put on a sweater?"<BR><BR>

Simpler way: double the number, subtract the first digit (and one more if the last number is 5 or higher), then add 32.
15 × 2 = 30……..30 – 3 = 27………27 + 32 = 59.
