Are they playing soccer with an American football? You normally don’t see people kicking an American football only a few feet.

CB does not specify if he is talking about his paternal or maternal grandparents. Is only one of the pairs still alive? Also, marrying 1939 and having a grandson by 1950 (the beginning of Peanuts) raises some questions.
