It’s something for Snoopy to do during the dog days of summer.

The Giants are banged-up and can use somebody like Snoopy on the roster!

A day in a life of a minor league baseball player in the ’60s.

It seems like a lot more players are in the dog house these days.

Those names are definitely not “minor league” baseball players. Although Snoopy may be in a league of his own.

Well, of all his teammates, only Snoopy has been named both MVP and recipient of the Golden Glove – er, Mouth – award. So I’d agree that he’s definitely in a league of his own!

Actually Willie Mays has two MVP’s and 12 Gold Gloves, but Snoopy has had a much longer career and hasn’t lost any of his skills and was always slightly faster on the basepaths.

Merely commemorative names of famous players, to which Snoopy is added. Maybe the Giants were Schulz’s favorite team.

And, as to who is Alvin Dark, “you could look it up”.

Schulz was indeed a giants fan. Charlie Brown moaned for months about “Why couldn’t McCovey’s hit have been a few feet higher”. The reference was to the last play of the 1962 world series when the Giants Willie McCovey’s line drive in the ninth inning with the potential winning runs on base was snared by Bobby Richardson of the Yankees.
