Methinks Snoopy has developed an attachment to the blanket. He’s even holding it the way Linus does in the first panel.

Linus doesn’t care how he gets it back, as long as he gets it back.

Let’s see…Linus’ security blanket is his protection against the ills of the world. Kinda like insurance. Huh…even then, Snoopy was destined to be in insurance.

In old English if you wanted to tell someone to shutup you would say Shutteh thy mouth

I love Snoopy’s dirty look when Linus makes his demand to give up the blanket. Sometimes you have to get tough with a dog to get them to cooperate. That shows the dog who’s really in charge. lol

Whan that Aprill with his shoures sote,The droughte of Marche hath perced to the rote,And bathed every veine in switch licour,Of which vertu endengered is the flour…..Now there’s some REAL Middle English!……And you’re exactly right about the silly games. Although, the way I see it, there’s nothing wrong with it as long as one uses correct grammar and pronunciation. Now goeth in peace!!!!! Worie not about those sillie “eths” and other extraneous bittes! Thay shal tyre out in tyme, and ye and I shal sleepe atte night againe.

Hmmm…..am I the only one here who senses that “accidental” mail delivery wasn’t so “accidental” after all?Btw, I haven’t been here every day, so I missed the opening of this story. Can someone kindly tell me how Linus’ blanket ended up in the mail in the first place? I’m guessing Lucy was involved……….just guessing……:P

You’re thinking of King James Bible English and Shakespearean English – not sure what that period is called by convention in English Lit history, but it’s about the turning point into Modern English, methinks. :) Middle English is a different beast, as the Chaucer citation points out.

Sure, why not? Cartoon Physics ruled supreme in Peanuts as much as elsewhere. :)

Ask and you will receive, knock and it shal be answered. Now Linus, tell Snoopy you’re sorry you called him stupid, tell him thank you for giving back your blanket and curl up on your couch with it and stick your thumb in your mouth.

Something tells me you’d be happier reading something where natural laws of physics and nature apply. If you’re looking to cartoons for that, you’re wasting your time.

Snoopy’s always stealing Linus’ stuff! In “Here’s To You Charlie Brown” Linus gets glasses, and Snoopy keeps taking them!
