Wow, these ARE old strips.

Schulz wouldn’t say that if he was alive today.

Lucy is always right.

I had a sister like Lucy. I’m surprised either one of us survived, but my moving to another continent did help.

She’s right, CB. That sky looks more like a washed out blue to me.

What is she, some kind of savant?

To be fair, July 14, 1959 had a pretty blue sky.

She must be a history buff, so she’s a stickler for dates.

Naw, she’s trying to drive CB insane, so she can make another nickel or two at her booth. Low, down, sneaky way to do it though.

I still see a blue sky, especially during this year, the year that will live in infamy as the YEAR OF THE BIG DROUGHT. We have been seeing plenty of blue sky. Of course, I live in the ’burbs. Although my area is on the edge of the severe part, we are way behind in our rain total.

Nice flashbacks on blue skies, Lucy.

I wonder if these were special birthdays or anniversaries to Sparky.

1959, eh Lucy…. The birth year of Sally. This is a VINTAGE strip for sure. Always being so extra, eh Lucy.

She’s pullim’ your chain, Charlie Brown.

This highlights the odd fact that these little kids are about the same age as us Baby Boomers. On the other hand, what little girl of today would wear a dress like that, bow at the back and all, except ironically?

Lucy has a pretty impressive memory…

And is a pretty impressive bossyboots.

I DID have a sister like Lucy. People often commented that she was like Lucy and I was like Linus. She grew up to be a wonderful woman—found herself a management role and has done well, helps people, gives generously…so there’s hope for Lucy.

Not old, classic!

I, too, remember seeing “The Shaggy Dog” in a theater… but I was born in ’59. It must have been rereleased later in the ’60s.

Lucy has quite a photographic memory. Charlie Brown should just laught it off.

July 14, 1959… A month and a half before I was born. September 2, 1961…. Two days before I turned two years old. I have seen LOTS of pretty blue skies since then.

Since these daily classic strips were NOT originally presented in color, I submit that today’s was much bluer than those back in the 1950’s and 1960’s ….

It’s kind of weird…it shows that they can’t be little kids…
