1979 — Charlie Brown went to the hospital for reasons not stated, but they were apparently serious. Lucy makes a promise not to pull the football away if Charlie Brown gets better. Charlie Brown gets better and has heard about the promise. For those who haven’t seen this sequence of strips, I won’t give away the resolution.
The annual Charlie Brown/Lucy football Sunday strip. In this one you see Charlie Brown in 3 different panels in a row in 3 different colors – Red, yellow, and white.
@JPuzzleWhiz. Charlie did kick the ball (a few times) in It’s Magic Charlie Brown. Afterward an irate Lucy made Snoopy find the ‘antidote’ and make him visible again, which Snoopy did as CB was attempting another invisible kick.
just once I wished Charlie Brown would have kicked the football felt bad that he didn’t …..I’ll tell what happened in the strip but I don’t want people to be mad at me he didn’t kick the football but he did kick Lucy’s thumb great huh?!!!!..that idiot had it coming huh????
I knew what happened in ‘79 in that strip cause I have it in a book that series where he got sick and Lucy said if you get well Charlie Brown I’ll never pull the football away again

The odds on Lucy being deceitful however…

It is the odds of Lucy not pulling the ball away that were ten billion to one. You will never learn, Charlie Brown!

That’s impressive. She looked that up so quickly long before Google and Wikipedia existed.

I always wondered why Charlie didn’t just have Linus hold the ball, or just not run to kick it
MadPunter84 about 11 years ago
She didn’t factor in the ‘Lucy variable’, which changes the odds to 1 to 1.

Charlie Brown could have saved himself a lot of grief if he had invested in a football tee.

Never fall for Lucy’s antics.

Just once I’ll like to see him kick Lucy instead during these football attempts. :)

The only time I’ve ever seen Charlie Brown kick that football was when Snoopy turned him invisible during a magic show and it freaked Lucy out.

Any time I see Lucy with the football, I say Oh No!!!
