I remember the “animal attack” movies that were so popular about the time this strip came out. There were a couple of piranha forgettables, then things like Swarm, Ben, Croc etc. After that they segued into films like Earthquake, The Towering Inferno, and The Poseidon Adventure—known as Shake and Bake and Soak!
I grew up in Brooklyn in the 1950’s. You would think it was a big city, but at the time it was a series of contiguous villages. Almost every street corner had a store of some kind. Everything was within walking distance and mom didn’t buy anything until the morning of the day she planned on cooking it for dinner.

Snoopy always seemed to have retractable teeth.

Yeah, I had thoughts like that. The world has changed. Kids have a lot to worry about in a quick trip to the store and seldom is it piranhas

I would still like to know why it is ok for Snoopy to bite Linus, or lie in wait for him as if he were prey.

Just throw Lucy out first, then while the Piranha is busy chomping her……

Since when was Snoopy so vicious?
I’m used to Crabby McCrab being that way but SNOOPY?
Oh well… First time for everything.

I think my dog has just as much imagination as Snoopy sometimes.

Snoopy’s imagination is so big, I doubt he’s ever bored.
