Snoopy’s been a WWI flying ace for decades. Considering the average life expectancy for a WWI fighter jock was about two weeks, I’d say he’s beaten the odds.
The true event might have been based on the “Christmas Truce” of 1914. British troops heard singing from the German lines: Stille Nacht. They responded with Silent Night. After exchanging a barrage of Christmas Carols, the Germans sent an emissary under a flag of truce into no man’s land. The British responded. Soon, both sides were out between the trenches exchanging gifts, showing pictures of loved ones and playing football (soccer).
Peace broke out all along the line. Unfortunately the generals didn’t think much of the idea and it never happened again.

When General Pershing finds out he is at a summer camp, the Ace may get court-martialed for being AWOL.

If I had the cruel friends that he does, I’d WELCOME being a loner.

Now we have “specific” themed summer camps. Math camp, science camp, horse camp, computer camp, etc.

Snoopy should help keep camp from being boring for Charlie Brown this year.

I’ve never heard of a summer camp that allowed children to bring their pets with.
