I remember my parents measuring our TV screen and saying we had to sit 1 foot back for each inch of screen or whatever it was. We ended up with our backs tight against the far wall, unable to really distinguish much that was going on, as it was an old b/w set and rather fuzzy.

Maybe “A Charlie Brown Christmas” was on.

In the first frame, I expected Snoopy was doing his vulture impersonation.

I don’t remember what year it was, but it was a big deal when the neighbors invited us over to watch “The Wizard of Oz” in color.

Nowadays having colour TV is nothing to show off about.

It was a miracle to see. I first saw color TV in 1957 at Rutgers University Student Commons in New Brunswick, N.J. . I remember to this day the movie being shown, “Theodora, Slave Empress”. I believe it was NBC using their compatible process as opposed to CBS’ incompatible color.

From the movie ‘A Hard Day’s Night’…“Aren’t you tending to black and white the situation somewhat?”
