The final panel shows that Snoopy knows the whole WW1 Flying Ace thing is just a fantasy role play thing. A friend of mine always used those arcs to try to prove to me that Snoopy lived in a different dimension—which might possibly explain his ability to balance on top of a pup tent!
Woodstock should be happy he is still in eagle camp. Once the eagles began having “dog fights” over the skies of France and Belgium their life expectancy was approximately three weeks. Sometimes, an active fantasy life is a good thing to have. Like now, in our country . . .
I always wished there would’ve been some scenes of Woodstock at Eagle (or Worm) camp. It would’ve been a little out there, but Schulz, like Dr. Seuss, was capable of pretty much anything in his writing!

Snoopy is zen, always! Or how can you sleep atop a tent?

Apparently Woodstock doesn’t know this Red Baron.

Hopefully he got there without getting another beak bleed.

Interesting how Snoopy can lie on his tent like he does on his doghouse back home!

Well, aren’t you planning to met the Red Baron during this war?

Is Eagle Camp any different than “Worm School”?

Every time he tries to say hello to the Red Baron, he gets more holes in his doghouse (except at Christmas-time)… ☺

I guess Charlie Brown doesn’t see it as odd that his dog gets mail from a bird—-and, besides that, how does he know Woodstock’s name?

Much less to balance on top of his Sopwith Camel, er, his House.
