Wonder if grade school students are still getting report cards since COVID-19 cut down the school year and the students had to take e-learning remote style at home for the rest of the school year?
Been there, parents wouldn’t have let me eat candy for terrible report cards. Now for good report cards that was a different story. Never got to eat candy for good report cards either, but they were much more likely to let me have candy for good report cards as it would have been a reward.

Eat that candy before showing your report card to you parents, if you eat enough of it you might look so green they might take pity on you.

That’s a good excuse to eat candy. ( I’m eating cashews.)

When Sally grows up, she’ll probably switch from candy to gourmet ice cream …

I remember when Charlie Brown said to Violet: “Years are like candy bars, we’re paying more but they’re getting shorter”

For older adults, their candy involves a candy-flavored beverage with a certain “spice” in it

Didn’t need the comma in panel four. 5 more points off. Oh, that would be on Schulz!

I got great report cards, but all they meant was that I was really, really good at schoolwork. It was all about knowing how to manipulate the nuns.

Thus setting up a lifelong pattern. Or patterns, as there are several being set here.

That’s the way life goes. When life hands bouquet of hardnuts, we should take a hike and eat candy or read cartoon strips to rejuvenate.
