Well, at least Sally owned her F. Usually, they way it’s heard is: “I got an A” or, the contrary, “The Teacher gave me an F”. At least back in Sally’s day, the teacher’s weren’t unionized and actually showed up in the classrooms.
Having your value recognized by seeing the failure of others when it isn’t provided is one of the few forms of schadenfreude that I see as at least morally ambiguous.
I helped my cousin with arithmetic the evening before her test. I found she forgot to carry during a subtraction. After the test, she glared at me and said “I got a B on that test because of you!” I was about to ask “What would you have gotten if I hadn’t helped you study?” I expected her answer “C”. But her Mom interrupted her saying “B is a good grade.”
An innocent interaction between siblings should not trigger mundane political rhetoric, especially when o[ne does nothing about it. Complaining never solves anything.
