I remember the Charlie Brown and Snoopy show version of this. Since Snoopy can’t think-talk in animated adaptations, I think he just left after Schroeder’s comment. If there had ever been an appropriate “voice” for Snoopy’s thoughts, I wonder if animating that last panel would have been funnier.
Really surprised that was a thing when that comic was first published. We recently decide to re-furnish our place and almost everywhere we went the furniture had one of two things: either the farmhouse look (white and worn out) or distressed which also included worm holes in the wood. Furniture makers surely love it because they can use any kind of wood and if the finished product isn’t perfect – oh well!

At least Snoopy isn’t Tab-Dancing on your piano. It’s all “Soft-Paw Pads”.

I wonder if Schroeder knows any Boogie Woogie? Now THAT you can dance to.
I hope Snoopy doesn’t find out that his cousin, Schrodinger, has a Cat.
