Transcript:
Pig: Hey, Rat... we got one of those automated phone calls from the library saying you have an overdue book... you better return it. Rat: Who cares, dude? It's one automated message. Let's at least wait 'til we get two. Pig: I don't think we get two.

“938 days overdue, dear!”

I personally, have the reverse situation with my library. Books vanish from their system with no explanation. AND creeps scratch DVDs, which are kept on loan. Not to mention the food on pages of books which are available. . ..

Gotta love a gun-totin’ librarian! Kinda reminds me of the Library Ninjas in the TV cartoon series Jacob Two-Two (episode 38).

Rat, I think the librarian has something she wants you to check out.

That would never happen at my library – whoever does the hiring likes girls who look like they’d have trouble lifting a firearm.

Ya really gotta read the fine print on NRA Library card application.

Stephan seems to be repeating himself. There was a strip nearly identical to this one a couple of years ago that featured librarians at the door with guns demanding that Rat return an overdue book.

“Grannie Get Your Gun” Nice job by Pastis drawing an AR15. She shops at LGD’s armory.
bmonk about 13 years ago
LOL! (Ooos, hope Rat didn’t hear that!)
Dirty Harriet: “Make my day, punk!”

The fact that they AREN’T militant tyrants is exactly WHY it’s funny. The absurdity of it.

Didn’t notice the slick switch to a flat screen. I suspect that this is the first appearance.

Say hello to my little frend.
josh_bisbee about 13 years ago
There was one book returned that was 238 years overdue (no, you didn’t read that wrong. It was years). The librarian was nice enough to waive the fee for the great grandson of the person that checked it out.
AlbertNonyMouse about 13 years ago
@dukedoug:Over the years I’ve been privileged to have torrid affairs (and two were actual affairs) with 3 (!) librarians. My advice? Check out a librarian!
