Rat: What are you reading, Goat? Goat: Chemistry. This chapter explains how each element has valence electrons, which are what determine how easy or hard it is for one element to mix with another. Rat: Sounds boring. Hey, did you get this invite to Pig's party on Friday? He wants us to R.S.V.P. if we're not going, which I don't think I am. Goat: Yeah... I don't want to go either. But I don't know what to tell him. What are you gonna say? Message: My valence electrons do not like your valence electrons.

Sounds like Rat’s adding another chapter to his “Chemistry for Idiots” book.

Where is Pig’s party. I thought Rat and Pig shared a house. In that case, difficult for Rat to miss the party.

“there’s just no chemistry between us”

Dern party poopers! ’Course, I am one.

Probably for the best if you want to avoid a violent reaction.

Valence electrons hang right above the curtain electrons.
They attract dust.

MNquiz, I was thinking that too.
But maybe Pig is having his party at Chucky Cheese’s….. I know my friends never want to go there with me.
Or…. maybe he’s having it at some dive, where his friends don’t want to mix with the negative elements.

OK we can cover the coming lame attempts at puns by reporting about the chemist who deals with valence all week in Valencia, Spain only to confront spouses’ valance hanging job while somewhat alleviated by playing the old Richie Valens collection. (Hoping to reduce the cleverness in the usual comments department by 20 or so).

Rat doesn’t want to go because there might be a Banjo Fatality.

I’d exclude Pauly Shore too…

Rat = helium (least reactive element)Pig = oxygen (bonds with nearly everything)

Also explain that you are full of Noble Gas, and your outer shell of valence electrons is full, and you have little inclination to participate in reactions.

hey chemo-nerds, here’s best periodic table on the web! www.ptable.com

Shame on Rat for perpetuating the myth that science is “boring”. No wonder the U.S. lags behind other countries in math and science education.

Soooo, he’s the dirty rat that shot Liberty Valence electrons …… .☻

I still have a sneaking fondness for this periodic table:http://www.fulcrumgallery.com/Naomi-Weissman/Periodic-Table-of-Desserts_212437.htm(Sold out, but there’s one on ebay)

I feel sorry for pig. He isn’t smart but he is sweet.

I love Rat’s excuses..

rat’s valence electrons don’t mix with anybody

Rat is one of the most un-valenced people I’ve ever seen.

I tried to watch a documentary about the chemistry of romance, but it had too much sex and valence for me.

two atoms bump into each other. One says, I think I just lost an electron! Other one says, you sure? First one replies, I’m positive!

My God, the puns here today are positively brilliant!

sounds like s. pastis was doing his homework onvalace electrons

Considering Pig’s reaction to the Punic Wars, he probably will think Rat is threatening violence on him.

I think my folks used to grow valence oranges out in California.
fatjimi about 13 years ago
Certainly, but the Air Force swore them to secrecy on the matter.
fatjimi about 13 years ago
But they had presidential electrons every four years, just like now.
