Pig: Whatcha reading, Goat?
Goat: This book about Stanley and Livingstone. Do you know much about them?
Pig: Stan Lee created Spider-Man.
Goat: No.
Pig: Please. I know my superheroes.
@leftwingpatriot, Thanks as well. I still have my Spider Man #9 I bought off the comic rack at the local grocery. Also a big fan of his early Doc Strange.artsyguy65, ease up a little. Pastis makes laughs, arguably anyway, as his living in three panels a day. Not so easy to wedge Ditko into his pun and get anything like a laugh.
Goat betrays his ignorance of popular culture! Pig is right, and Goat isn’t. See, what has the world come to, when the haughty Paris Goat is publicly shamed by the hapless innocent, Pig? (At least, in the eyes of comics fans….)
@leftwingpatriot, That’s true but I believe that is in large part because Stan is still alive. I’ve seen several documentaries where Mr. Lee greatly credits Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko for their contributions.
