My cynical nature has a deep suspicion of New Age “gurus” who teach “just live in the present moment”, “be here now”, “don’t worry, be happy”, while they themselves have multi-million dollar bank accounts. No wonder they have a perpetual grin on their faces. The same thing goes for the “prosperity gospel” TV evangelists who teach “send me some money, your life will be blessed with abundance” while they have multiple mansions and private jets.
