I learned early on to look away and talk to the vaccinator or the vaccinator’s aide and this helped me not focus on it. It helped me later in life to deal with my own patients and even now when I am the vaccinator.
I have a high pain threshold. After the first shot I was fine. My mom was a Navy nurse in WWII. She often gave shots to long lines of sailors. Her guilty pleasure was seeing the occasional sailor faint.
Glad that’s happening! Most of my charges (school bus driver here) are hounding their parents to get them the shots so they can go out and socialize this year.

Dre should know that by getting the vaccine, he’ll be that much closer to going back to normal with social gatherings and crowds and such!
