I love Douglas Adams’ take on invisibility:.Scientists discovered that the actual technology to make anything invisible was so incredibly complex and costly that 99.9999999% of the time it was better to just remove the item and do without it..Then they invented the SEP field – it is kinda similar to Marigold’s Shield of Boringness. Anything inside the SEP field becomes Somebody Else’s Problem and so no one notices it.

It’s easy to turn invisible, just start bugging your parents for money.

I wanted Phoebe to be invisible last time this strip was run. After all this time I don’t think I’ll ever SEE an invisible Phoebe.

This may sound odd, but I wonder if Marigold recognizes Phoebe as a child, with all the limitations that imposes. It came to mind because Marigold seems to take very good care of Phoebe — not giving in to her every whim and wish, making gently corrections and so forth. A most desirable companion!

Well, @Dogday88 , Marigold HAS called Phoebe (or referred to her as) “child” on occasion…

I think most people who do see Marigold don’t see her for what she is due to her Shield Of Boringness. Like in the movie The Last Unicorn, most humans saw her as just a white horse.

Phoebe invisible? I just can’t see it…
