I’m fifty something and i would be lost without my smartphone.

I could blame my job, but truth told, i have plenty of uses for it outside of work and social media.

The first two apps that i put on a new phone is tide table and flashlight.

I’m good with a phone, but still SO MANY POSSIBILITIES FOR CHRISTMAS!!! I could SETTLE IT IN SMASH!!! Save Dreamland from evil robots. Stop the moon’s destruction over Termina. Or even what everyone is doing right now: Travel between kingdoms on the odyssey!

This is the sad thing about smart phones, and why kids should not have them until thy are 18. There’s too much complex life issues and open porn on the net to expose them too, and they need to learn more about the world and face-to-face encounters before burying themselves in text messages and facebook time.

That’s today’s youth for you!Back in my days, we didn’t have no portable phones, let alone smartphones. We’d be glad with a landline, and we still managed to survive. Now, where did I leave my cane?

I’ll wait until Earth turns into Planet WiFi and I can just schlep my tablet with me. Way easier on these old eyes.

I know Phoebe’s generation has never known life without cell phones and the internet, which is what makes it so hard for me to relate to her “pain.”

She could try actually interacting with people in person.

Well, that’s one thing that human beings can do that unicorns can’t (although the technology needed for people to do it [nature and technology already make it possible for subatomic particles, including very short-lived ones] isn’t yet in hand). Taking a ride aboard a relativistic starship, traveling very close to c, the speed of light, would also “fast-forward time” (for those on board), as they would experience when they returned home…

I find it tragic that people, especially young kids, tend to go into catatonic collapse when they’re away from their phone for an extended period of time… which make me fearful of the future… :(
