Women should never drag a man to the fabric store anymore than men should drag a woman to the hardware store.

Sounds too familiar. After feeling all the fabrics in the store about an hour or so, then and only then is the question asked. ” Do you think this will make my butt look fat??”

Well, Opal, you did ask him. You deserve some of the blame for his answer.

The question I would ask is “Are you making a flag or a dress?”

ref the cotton genius: will it make my butt look fat? response: i certainly hope so.

cleo, that’s what I thought when I saw the patterns! LOL

@Macushlalondra I know better than to drag any of my males into a fabric store (unless what I’m going to make, they’re going to wear.) HOWEVER, I also love going into hardware stores. I might pick a different aisle to browse than my hubby, but I love looking at all the stuff I could use for a project.

When was the last time Opal went with Earl to get supplies for his hobby and he asked her her opinion of this doo-hicky and of that thing-a-ma-bob?

I think Earl doesn’t feel any comfortable with Opal at the fabric store. LOLs!

When I was little (45 years ago) mom took me with her to Mcdonalds..(yes Mcdonalds)..department store to pick up fabric and “breck” patterns……I still grew up to be straight…..never used a pair of pincking shears in my life… Rolls of fabric “do” have a nice smell though…

If it is for clothes, then I would go with what feels the best, but judging by those designs, I don’t think that Earl will be wearing them.

Like Earl has fashion-sense!

yes it all depends on what the fabric is for!
