Boy…Earl isn’t talking to my grandson…he does enough stupid stuff for two or three boys…sumpin’ ‘bout that boy ain’t right….

Hey I laugh at myself all the time.

You can have some of mine, son. I’ve got lots of extras.

If Earl can’t think of enough stupid things he does I’m sure Opal can.

Best quote I ever heard, “if you can’t laugh at yourself, then you’re missing the best joke in town.”

Opal does enough stupid things of her own, but I doubt she’d ever laugh about them.

I don’t remember Earl laughing when he wore Opal’s red hat.

Being stupid is as easy as falling off a duck.

Or maybe it’s “Being stupid means you never have to say you’re sorry.” Which, of course is that famous line from “STUPID STORY.”

At the risk of being terminally serious…

I am a very serious person with a great sense of humor. I love to laugh, which is why I read about 150 comics a day. This is how I get the vast majority of my laughs since I do my best not to have any reason to laugh at myself. There is enough stupidity in the world without making my own contribution.

And if you want to laugh at that,…You’re welcome.

Laugh, and the world laughs with you.

Cry, and you look like crap.
