Might as well fry them, Opal. Apparently Earl’s brain is fried too.

This is your brain and this is your brain being married to Opal.

“How” is a very difficult way to cook them, Opal. You may want to try putting who’sinadaze sauce on them.

Turn up the volume of your hearing aid a bit, Earl. Opal asked HOW would you like your eggs cooked.

If Earl were a male cow, I think Opal would cook his “eggs” into Rocky Mountain oysters. (Y’all do know Rocky Mountain oysters aren’t really oysters, right?)

He heard her words just fine, Comixavier. He just interpreted them differently. Or maybe he’s used to getting them undercooked, and this is him being sarcastic.

Earl, say “OVER-EASY” for your eggs Opal plans to cook for your breakfast.

Hey Grog, when did Earl and Opal get a divorce, and who is Brian?

Hate to criticize, comixavier, but “cow” is always female. The male bovine is a bull.

comixavier: would that be a bull? (before - a steer afterward), and yes, most of know exactly what rocky mountain oysters are.

Earl’s sarcasm is going to get him eggs over nosy. (over nose)

How do we want our comics? Late?

It’s not sarcasm – it’s a play on words. (We’ve seen both Earl and Opal do that in the past, although Earl is better at it.) Good for double-take absurdist humor – Groucho Marx was the grand master of the style.

Thanks SCATTY. Play is nicer than sarcasm. I doubt that Opal has served uncooked eggs before. If I were Earl, though, I’d think before I spoke, given the proximity of Opal and her eggs.

He’s sick of eating her runny eggs. He just wants the things cooked. It doesn’t matter how, just cooked. She had that coming after her insult to his cooking yesterday, even though he called them creepies first..

Earl tiptoes around Opal, and plays with her with answers, but he is always matter of fact. She just downright insults him all the time.

Opals Omelets are the best. Poached are wonderful. Sunny-side up are tasty. Over-easy are perfect. Hard-boiled are great for fishing trips. Soft-boiled are just right. Deviled make you think you’ve died and gone to heaven. Scrambled with cheese and mushrooms are worshipful. Opal loves Earl. Earl loves Opal. Earl is just a kidder that doesn’t know when enough is enough. Did I miss anything?
