Earl can sleep anywhere.

I thought he was sleeping outdoors lately.

I like calling it the “parlor” even more, Nelson!

To sleep, perchance to dream…

It means he’s still alive. Otherwise it would be called the deading room.

Is Opal wearing shorts?! That’s different…

Not shorts – those calf-length slacks that ladies sometimes wear. (What are they called? – I’m not a fashion maven.)

Like a lot of “fashionable” clothes, they only really look good on those rare individuals who would look good wearing literally anything – which means that they don’t look good on the vast majority of the people who do wear them. And the rest of us are stuck having to look at them. Such is fashion….

Try capris, pedal pushers, or clam diggers. I am sure someone can come up with a few other names.

Earl just was watching Opal paint for hours… No wonder he’s wants to cop a few zzzzzz’s…..

This year they are called capri’s. A couple of years ago they were clam diggers, back in my youth they were called pedal pushers! LOL!

A parlor or pallor.

Since Opal still calls flip-flops thongs, I’m guessing she’s wearing what she’d call pedal pushers.

Anyone else ever stare at their elderly parent when he or she is napping, to see if they’re still breathing?

I am sure Grampa Earl takes a nap. Nelson, try not to distrub him while he naps.

Dry and baggybut, You are right. Opal wears a capri. I never heard other words that you used in your times; “pedal pushers”, or “clam diggers.” It must be very interesting to know about that words. Cool! lols! :-)

Wildmustang “In my time”? I was a kid in pedal pusher days, and clam diggers was maybe 5 years ago! :-D

There are also pants that are called “cropped”. They are just a little shorter than regular slacks and just right for me. I also like capris. They’re cooler, temperature-wise,than full length slacks, but look better than shorts on an older, overweight person.

Sorry, but, in 1961 they called them clam diggers. Pdeal pushers were in the 50”s LOL I’m telling my age

Opal is wearing caprices. I have a few now fashionable. Not sure if young people will where them.
