What’s the point to having something for companionship (or someone, for that matter) that you can completely control? No personality, no stimulation…you may as well give it all up, and get a teddy bear.
Some of these comments are ridiculous! I refuse to have a cat, I’ve tried having them, never again! And it has absolutely nothing to do with “not being able to control” them, in fact their independent attitude is one of the things I like most about cats.
What I don’t like however is keeping a litter box in my home that you can’t make not stink no matter how much you clean it or what kind of litter you use (if you have 1 and think it doesn’t stink, you’ve gone nose blind to it, i promise you!)
Plus as referenced part of a cats charm is the fact that they do whatever the hell they want, including jumping up and walking around on the kitchen counters and dining room table whether you have food on them at the moment or not! I couldn’t stand the thought of them digging around in their litter box (that they literally just finished peeing and pooping in) then walking around on my counters/tables while I tried to prepare or eat food!

^The reason I don’t have a cat is because there ARE a lot worse things a cat can do…

The real reason some people do not have cats is because they have no control over them.
