When I was a kid you could buy small turtle forpets but later on the government outlawedpeople from having them because people weregetting diseases from them.
Grandma must be trying to knock off the kid with salmonella. Turtles are often infected with salmonella and there is no way to make them safe except to follow the advice for hamburgers: “Cook until the juices run clear.”
