What amazes me it the latent hostility shown to these two. When we see them, do we see our spouse? Do we see our parents?
What I see, especially in today’s strip, is a husband who is genuinely concerned about his wife, so much so that he is willing to pursue the matter even after their attempt to lighten the mood of the situation. Is she physically ok? Has she seen a doctor recently? He is concerned, it is up to her to put his mind at ease, or share what the issue is. Maybe she just doesn’t yet know how to do that.
