My grandfathers’ names were Harley (paternal), Clarence (maternal), and Melvin (stepmother’s father).
Some of the “nicknames” of our youth, are best forgotten !
I have to agree, nicknames from both family and friends are best forgotten. It seems that there is someone that always has too long of a memory.
When they called me, Mr. See minus, I always thought it was because I wore glasses.
“How come” isn’t a word.
Well at least it wasn’t ‘Deeminus’.
My son came home from kindergarten one day and said, “They know I’m smart, but they think my name is Alec.”
